On Deck- July 27- Cardinals at Mets Game 3

St. Louis Cardinals (58-48 Road: 28-23) at New York Mets (56-48 Home: 31-20) 1:10pm

Kyle Lohse (12-2 3.35) vs. Johan Santana (8-7 3.05)

TV: CW11   Radio: WFAN

What to watch: The Mets and Cardinals rise and shine early this morning to play again after a late game last night. Lohse hasn’t had a bad start since June 25th. Hopefully, that means he’s due. Santana hasn’t lost a game in a month, and has pitched well enough to win many times this season but hasn’t. The Mets offense owes Santana more support than they’ve given him.

On Deck- July 26- Cards at Mets Game 2

St. Louis Cardinals (57-48 Road: 27-23) at New York Mets (56-47 Home: 31-19) 7:10pm

Joel Pineiro (3-4 4.52) vs. Brandon Knight (0-0 0.00)

TV: SNY   Radio: WFAN

What to watch: The Mets are going for their fourth straight win. But they’re relying on Triple-A call up Knight making a spot start for Pedro Martinez. Pineiro’s last two starts haven’t been that good. Hopefully, the Mets can skate by for a game until Pedro gets back.

On Deck- July 25- Cardinals at Mets Game 1

St. Louis Cardinals (57-47 Road: 27-22) at New York Mets (55-47 Home: 30-19) 7:10pm

Mitchell Boggs (3-1 6.59) vs. Mike Pelfrey (8-6 3.81)

TV: SNY   Radio: WFAN

What to watch: The Cardinals just lost four straight games in Milwaukee after winning four straight in San Diego. The Cardinals have dropped to four games behind the Cubs in the NL Central. Boggs’ last start was against the Mets on July 3rd when he got rocked for 11 runs (10 earned) over six innings. Pelfrey’s last start in Cincinnati was rough giving up five runs over seven innings. But he hasn’t lost a game since May 26th.

On Deck- July 24- Phillies at Mets- Game 3

Philadelphia Phillies (54-47 Road: 27-24) at New York Mets (54-47 Home: 29-19) 12:10pm

Jamie Moyer (9-6 3.90) vs. Oliver Perez (6-6 4.36)

TV: SNY Radio: WFAN

What to watch: The Mets and Phillies play the rubber game of the series on camp day today. So for everyone stuck at work, make sure you get to a TV at lunch or put your MLB.com subscription on when the boss isn’t looking. Moyer has had a great year for the Phils for a 45 year old, or any age for that matter. He hasn’t lost a game since June 29th. Perez has “found himself” under new pitching coach Dan Warthen and he hasn’t lost either since June 24th.

On Deck- July 23- Phillies at Mets Game 2

Philadelphia Phillies (54-46 Road: 27-23) at New York Mets (53-47 Home: 28-19) 7:10pm

Brett Myers (3-9 5.84) vs. John Maine (8-7 4.22)

TV: SNY Radio: WFAN

What to watch: The Mets need to pick themselves up from the floor and go after the next two games to win this series. Myers is back from a minor league stint attempting to re-gain his form. Maine needs to keep his walks down along with his pitch count. He hasn’t won a game in nearly a month, since June 25.

On Deck- July 22- Phillies at Mets Game 1

Philadelphia Phillies (53-46 Road: 26-23) at New York Mets (53-46 Home: 28-18) 7:10pm

Joe Blanton (5-12 4.96) vs. Johan Santana (8-7 3.10)

TV: SNY Radio: WFAN

What to watch: The Phils and Mets start a three game series tonight with identical 53-46 records. Blanton is making his debut for the Phils tonight against Santana. I’m sure he’ll be geeked up to show what he can do for the Phillies. Santana got bombed in Cincy five days ago for five runs in four innings. I’m sure he’ll be looking to turn that around quickly. Billy Wagner may be available but I’m sure that Jerry Manuel will only use him if absolutely necessary.

On Deck- July 20- Mets At Reds Game 4

New York Mets (52-46 Road: 24-28) at Cincinnati Reds (48-51 Home: 28-20) 1:15pm

Mike Pelfrey (8-6 3.64) vs. Edinson Volquez (12-3 2.29)

TV: CW11  Radio: WFAN

What to watch: This is probably the best pitching matchup of the four game series. And that’s saying something in a series that Johan Santana pitched in. The Mets really need this game badly to avoid losing 3 of 4 to the lowly Reds. The Mets absolutely need to win this game to have a little momentum going into the Phillies series that begins Tuesday at home.
