On Deck: June 15 Rangers At Mets Doubleheader

Texas Rangers (34-35) vs. New York Mets (32-34) 1:10pm

Game 1: Kevin Millwood (4-3 4.91) vs. John Maine (6-4 3.60)

Game 2: Kason Gabbard (1-2 4.75) vs. Pedro Martinez (1-0 6.91)

TV: CW11, SNY   Radio: WFAN

What to watch:  The Mets and Rangers play a single admission doubleheader today with the second game starting shortly after the first game ends. We don’t see many of those anymore. Once again, Willie Randolph may be relying on the players to save his job. I like the pitching match up’s for the Mets today. The weather is supposed to be nice and clear this afternoon.

On Deck: June 14 Rangers At Mets

Texas Rangers (34-35) at New York Mets (32-34)   7:10pm

Kason Gabbard (1-2 4.75) vs. Pedro Martinez (1-0 6.91)

TV: SNY   Radio: WFAN

What to watch: After rumors spread yesterday that Willie Randolph was on the verge of being replaced, the Mets got a big win. The Rangers are an interesting team with huge hitters and almost no pitching. The Mets offense needs to continue to take advantage of the inadequate Rangers pitching staff.

On Deck: June 13- Rangers At Mets

Texas Rangers (34-34) at New York Mets (31-34)   7:10pm

Scott Feldman (1-2 4.31) vs. Oliver Perez (4-4 5.37)

TV: SNY   Radio: WFAN

What to watch: The reeling Mets welcome the Texas Rangers and bench coach Art Howe to town for a three game series this weekend. Oliver Perez is the most inconsistent pitcher that I’ve ever seen. So we have absolutely no idea what we’ll get from him tonight. It could be a no hitter, or he might not get out of the first inning. Who knows?

On Deck: June 12- D-Backs At Mets

Arizona Diamond Backs (35-31) at New York Mets (31-33) 1:10pm

Dan Haren (6-4 3.44) vs. Johan Santana  (7-4 3.08)

TV: SNY          Radio: WFAN

What to watch:  This game is a great pitching match-up. The Mets have a shot to take the series with a win today. Hopefully, last night’s 13th inning walk off win will spark some life into this Mets team.

On Deck: June 11- D-Backs At Mets

Arizona Diamond Backs (35-30) at New York Mets (30-33) 7:10pm

Brandon Webb (11-2 2.58) vs. Mike Pelfrey (2-6 4.65)

TV: SNY          Radio: WFAN

What to watch:  The Mets could be in big trouble tonight and tomorrow, facing the D-Backs two best pitchers. Former Cy Young Award winner Brandon Webb is on pace for a 29 win season. He beat the Mets on May 3, but didn’t have a great game going six innings and giving up four earned runs. Mike Pelfrey has pitched two quality starts in a row and needs to continue that trend tonight.

On Deck: June 10- D-Backs At Mets

Arizona DiamondBacks (34-30) at New York Mets (30-32) 7:10pm

Micah Owings (6-4 4.50) vs. John Maine (6-4 3.47)

TV: SNY Radio: WFAN

What to watch: The D-Backs have been struggling since their hot start to the season. This is a good chance to catch them playing flat on a long road trip. Maine had a very good start in San Francisco last week going six innings and giving up just one run. Moises Alou may be in the lineup tonight as well. Ryan Church is out for the next two weeks.

On Deck: June 8- Mets At Padres

New York Mets (30-31) at San Diego Padres (27-37) 4:05pm

Pedro Martinez (1-0 6.75) vs. Wil Ledezma (0-2 4.43)

TV: CW11 Radio: WFAN

What to watch: The Mets try to avoid a four game sweep in San Diego today. The Mets are now 2-4 on this road trip and one game under .500. If the Mets get swept today, the coaching staff may not be the same when they resume play against the D-Backs on Tuesday.
