MLB, Komen Go Pink For Mother’s Day

Expect to see plenty of pink bats, sweatbands, and cleats today as MLB goes pink to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure in the fight against breast cancer. It’s a great cause that baseball has been very publicly supporting for a few years now. For those of us that know someone that’s been affected by breast cancer, it’s an important cause to bring attention to.

Check out Mark Newman’s excellent column at MLB.com about the honorary bat girl program happening today as well. For those of you going to the game at Citi Field, make sure you give a big hand to Patricia Colella of Astoria, the Mets honorary ball girl, as someone who’s gone to bat against breast cancer in daily life.

Going To Bat Against Breast Cancer

Major League Baseball and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization are joining forces again this season on Mother’s Day. We’ll be seeing pink bats, wrist bands, ribbons on the bases, etc.

Many of us know someone who’s been affected by breast cancer. If you haven’t already checked out the Komen.org website, today’s a good day to do so. Everyone should have charitable causes that are important to them. If you’re not already involved with a charity, get involved with the Komen organization.
