Johan Santana was good, but Josh Johnson was better. Santana threw 7 innings of 3- hit ball with 13 K’s and 1 walk, only giving up 2 runs. Johnson threw a complete game and nearly shut out the Mets. That’s how you beat Johan Santana.
Johnson nearly blew it in the ninth inning, giving up an RBI single to Carlos Beltran. He had the tying run on base but not in scoring position while managing to hang on and get the win.
The Mets lose the series to the Marlins 2-1 and go home to open Citi Field tomorrow night.

I’m surprised the Mets have already strung together some Met-like losses within a week.

The Mets are looking like they’re picking up where they left off last year… Finding a new and interesting way to lose games. The big difference is that last season you could point to the bullpen as the cause of almost every loss. This season they have to find new ways to lose.

Some positives to take away from the losses were late inning rallies, something that was sorely missed last year.
I’m looking forward to the home stand.

I can’t remember you being this positive about the Mets before. I’ll be curious to see how positive you are after Pedro Feliciano balked in the winning run tonight.
