After struggling (relatively) for the last month, Johan Santana came back with another excellent start. He went 7.1 innings giving up 2 runs on 98 pitches. But the game was stopped because of rain in the eighth and that was it for Santana with the Mets losing 2-1. Now that Santana is pitching well, the Mets aren’t scoring behind him again. The Mets went very quietly today only getting 4 hits in the game. There was no offense whatsoever. The only run came on an RBI double to right by Omir Santos in the second inning. That’s it.
The Rays even up the series and they play the rubber game tomorrow afternoon.
