What to watch: The Mets try to even the series at 2-2 before leaving for Philly. Pelfrey has been terrific this season, throwing a complete game 3-hitter in his last start. Moehler has had a nice season for Houston, he’s won his last five decisions.

Randy Wolf (8-11 4.81) vs. Oliver Perez (9-7 3.93)

What to watch: Perez is 3-1 in his last four decisions. He’s been surprisingly consistent in the second half of the season. Wolf got rocked in his last start in Milwaukee giving up six runs in four innings of work.Apparently, Luis Castillo won’t be returning to the active roster today either but he can’t play in anymore rehab games. So he’s in limbo right now.

On Deck- August 23- Astros at Mets [Game 2]

Brandon Backe (7-12 5.62) vs. John Maine (10-7 3.82)

What to watch: The Mets go for their fifth consecutive win today with Luis Castillo back from the disabled list and starting at second base. Maine hasn’t lost a game in more than a month, since July 18th. But his velocity has been down lately which bears close watching. Backe got rocked in Houston in his last start for 11 runs over 5.2 innings. Lets’ hope he has another start like that tonight.

What to watch: Santana is coming off a complete game victory in Pittsburgh in his last start as the Mets welcome the Astros to town for a four game series. Oswalt has been pitching extremely well. He’s won five straight decisions. This should be a great pitching match up.

What to watch: Pedro has pitched three quality starts in a row now after struggling for some time after coming off the disabled http://www.mindanews.com/buy-inderal/ list. Former Met Mike Hampton has been up and down after suffering through another injury plagued season. The Mets go for the sweep before Houston comes to town for a weekend series.

What to watch: Pelfrey threw seven shutout innings in his last start in Pittsburgh and has been a complete revelation in the second half of the season. Jurrjens has been good as well, but he’s lost 3 of his last 4 decisions. Look for the Mets to keep the good times rolling tonight.

What to watch: Perez has turned into a consistent winner in the second half of his contract season. The Braves are just playing out the string this year after trading Mark Teixeira away. Reyes has lost five of his last six starts for the Braves. Look for the Mets to take this one.
