Those people (including myself) were wrong.
The Mets went 2-4 on their six-game road trip, extending their season-long streak to nine straight road series without a series victory (0-7-2 on the season).

The Mets had a great opportunity to start off the road trip on a good note, as they visited the Brewers, who were a league-worst 6-15 at home. The Mets responded to that statistic by losing their first two in Milwaukee. They were, however, able to salvage the final game.
The Mets split the first two games against the NL West-leading San Diego Padres, getting embarrassed in the first game, 18-6, and winning the second thanks in most part to a brilliant performance by Mike Pelfrey.
The Mets had a fantastic chance to win their first road series of the year on Wednesday night. The Mets carried a 1-0 lead into the ninth inning, but Francisco Rodriguez would blow his third save of the season on a David Eckstein RBI single, and the Mets would eventually lose on a walk-off grand slam from Adrian Gonzalez.
Predicted Mets Road Trip Record: 4-2.
Actual Mets Road Trip Record: 2-4.
The Mets are now 8-18 on the road.
