Mets 1 – Rockies 0 August 10, 2010

Apr. 27, 2010 - Flushing, NY, USA - April 25, 2010: New York Mets starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey strides toward the plate during a rain-filled Major League Baseball game vs. visiting Atlanta Braves at Citi Field in Flushing, NY. He allowed no runs while scattering 5 hits and 5 walks over 5 innings. He got the win to improve his season record to 4-0 in the Mets 1-0 victory in a game that was called one strike into the top 6th inning on account of rain. Mets finally got a good game from Mike Pelfrey for the first time in a month and a half. He went 7 shutout innings and threw 122 pitches only allowing 4 hits. He didn’t go overboard with the splitter tonight. It seems like the league has caught up with that. It was a great game that Pelfrey needed badly.

There wasn’t much offense for the Mets but they were up against Ubaldo Jimenez. They only had 4 hits but did have 5 walks. The only run of the game was on a Jose Reyes sacrifice fly in the seventh with the bases loaded and one out.

The Mets looked good for the first time in quite a while. It’s a nice way to start this series.
