Mets 4 – Nationals 1 September 7, 2010

Apr 04, 2009 - New York, New York, USA - DILLON GEE during the New York Mets vs Boston Red Sox exhibition game at Citi Field in Flushing, New York. The Boston Red Sox beat the NY Mets 9-3 Photo via Newscom Mets finally got something to cheer about. Dillon Gee had an incredible first Major League start going 7 strong inning and only allowing 1 run on 2 hits. He didn’t allow a hit until the sixth when Willie Harris took him deep to right. He was cruising only throwing 86 pitches through the 7 innings. It was an extremely impressive start and I’m intrigued to see more.

The Mets jumped ahead early on an Ike Davis 3-run homer in the first inning. Overall, the Mets still only had 6 hits and 2 walks as a team continuing their putrid performance offensively this season.

The Mets even up the series in Washington and play an early rubber game tomorrow at 12:35.
