Seatcrew.com is sponsoring a contest for optimistic Mets fans! It’s the beginning of the season so there’s reason for everyone to be optimistic about their team’s chances this season, even Mets fans despite the doom and gloom predicted by most experts. I want to know why you’re optimistic about the Mets this season. Explain in the form below why you’re optimistic and excited about the Mets in 2012. The best entry, judged by me, will win the tickets courtesy of SeatCrew.com. Continue reading “Contest: Free Tickets for Mets – Giants April 23, 2012”

Preview: Mets at Giants July 17, 2010
New York Mets (48-42) at San Francisco Giants (49-41) 9:05 pm
Hisanori Takahashi (7-3 4.15) vs Matt Cain (6-8 3.34)
TV: SNY Radio: WFAN
What to watch: The Mets have a tough road to even this four game series after dropping the first two. Doing it against Cain might be a good chance. For his career, he’s 3-3 with a 4.26 ERA against the Mets. He’s on a bad stretch right now giving up 21 runs in his last four starts. Takahashi hasn’t started a game since July 4 and I don’t have a lot of confidence in his ability to get past the fifth inning.

On Deck: June 4- Mets At Giants
New York Mets (29-28) at San Francisco Giants (25-34) 3:45pm
John Maine (5-4) vs. Matt Cain (2-3)
TV: SNY Radio: WFAN
What to watch: After the triumphant return of Pedro Martinez last night, John Maine tries to finish off the series win with a victory today. The Mets really should take a series from a team as bad as the Giants, even if it is on the road. Look for some of the veterans to get a day off for a day game after night game. I like the way the bench players have been going this season, so I don’t expect much of a drop off.
