Video: David Wright at 2010 All-Star Game

Mets third baseman David Wright addresses the media at the 2010 All-Star game. Check out the video. He’s one of those guys that really “gets it” and appreciates what’s going on around him. You can tell by the way he talks about getting a chance to play with Reds third baseman Scott Rolen.

Video: Binghamton Mets 2010 All-Stars

Here’s a promotional video from the B-Mets for their three Eastern League All-Stars Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Mike Nickeas, and Josh Stinson. All three are having really good seasons, especially Nieuwenhuis. He may even see some time with the big club in September if he keeps it up. Check out their stats at the B-Mets site.

Video: Stephen Strasburg Preview July 3, 2010

Here’s some ESPN video with Buck Showalter giving us a preview of Stephen Strasburg. He’s lost his last two starts but his velocity and control are incredible. It’ll be really interesting to see the Mets facing him this afternoon on Fox. I can’t even think of another starting pitcher that I could compare with Strasburg to see how the Mets perform against a fireballing-righty with excellent control and three good pitches.

Video: Jose Reyes on Side Injury

Here’s some video from ESPN with Jose Reyes talking about the injury to his right side. He’s missed the last two games now and the lineup just isn’t the same without him. We know that all too well from all of the time he missed in 2009. But the Mets are 1-1 so far without him.

It’s a day-to-day situation, otherwise he would have been placed on the disabled list already. Let’s hope he’s back tonight against the Nats.

http://view.picapp.com//JavaScripts/OTIjs.jsMets Report writer David Daniels was out at Citi Field this weekend and shot some video of the Mets museum and Hall of Fame. You can see the original post at David’s personal blog. The museum is the Mets biggest action this season to address our season-long complaints last year about Citi Field not displaying enough about the Mets’ history.

http://view.picapp.com//JavaScripts/OTIjs.jsFox Sports is doing a virtual GM piece with Jim Bowden in the video below. If you can get past his odd looking hair, he actually does a pretty good job of assessing the Mets situation coming up to next month’s non-waiver trade deadline.

Bowden says that the Mets will be looking at starting pitching, Carlos Beltran’s health, and a potential upgrade at second base. Of course, all of those are easier said than done. But the national media aren’t always on when it comes to analyzing team needs. In this video, Bowden is pretty much dead on.
