Video: Jeff Wilpon With Mets In Atlanta

Jeff Wilpon spoke to the media before tonight’s game about the reason he’s in Atlanta. Nobody is getting fired. At least not today. He wouldn’t be there if he wasn’t really ticked off. I’m sure he expressed that in his meeting with Jerry Manuel, Dan Warthen, Omar Minaya, and John Ricco.

Here’s the video from ESPN.

Video: Jon Niese Injury Reaction

Here’s some video that was shot after yesterday’s game when Jon Niese left in the third inning with an apparent hamstring injury. He’s headed back to New York for an examination and I’ll be surprised if they let him make his next start. After the ugly hamstring injury he suffered last season, the Mets need to be smart with a good, young pitcher and put him on the DL for a couple of weeks to let him heal.

The video below is the post-game thoughts from Niese and Jerry Manuel.

Video: Keith Hernandez Sleeping During Mets Game

You’ve probably already heard that Ken Griffey, Jr. missed an opportunity to pinch hit because he was asleep in the locker room. Apparently, it’s turned into an epidemic. The video below was shot of Keith Hernandez asleep between innings of last Saturday’s game on WPIX against the Giants. At least you can tell that he’s doing a good job with the Just For Men while his head is down on the desk.

Video: David Wright Ejected May 9, 2010

Warning: NSFW

Here’s a link to the MLB.com video of David Wright getting ejected for arguing a called third strike yesterday. You can hear pretty clearly the “salty” language that got him tossed.

Nice job by Dave Singer of NY Sports Dog for finding the link.

Video: Jose Reyes on Mets-Cardinals 20 Inning Game

There are a lot of reactions coming in from last night’s 20 inning marathon game. I’ll be getting those reactions up throughout the morning. Whenever Fox Sports has a Saturday game for the Mets, there’s always a lot of video to post.

Here’s some video from Jose Reyes after the game with Ken Rosenthal talking about the fatigue of playing in such a long game. He also asks if the Mets bench was talking about how they had to get some hits off the Cardinals position players that were pitching. It’s a good, short interview.

Video: Jeff Francoeur – No Problem With Manuel

Last night ESPN Baseball Tonight aired a report by Seth Everett that several players have a problem with Jerry Manuel. The players Everett cited were Jeff Francoeur, David Wright, Johan Santana, and Jose Reyes. He listed the supposed reasons they all have a problem with Manuel.

Before today’s marathon game against the Cardinals, Francoeur responded and denied Everett’s report as a complete falsehood. See the interview below with Ken Rosenthal.
